Star Trek Catan Review
What I like about this game is that every time you play it, it is a new game. The game board is randomized so it is a different game each time. It is a fast pace game relatively speaking for such a complex game for ages 10 and up. Except to spend 1-1/2 – 2 hours playing this game – perfect for a snowy afternoon home! Once you get a hang of it, it flows very nicely. There are so many pieces and aspects to the game that it looks complicated at first. Don’t be concerned by this at all. Strek Trek fans will intuitively know much of the game because of the star ships and outposts that look identical to the Star Trek show.
Star Trek Catan is a strategy board game where you balance resources, trading, expanding, and more.
I’ve found that the entire game is very well made. It seems like the kind of game that will stand the test of time and be around for a very long time. The quality of the materials is very good.
Our daughter isn’t quite old enough to play Star Trek Catan, however she thought it looked super cool and wanted to play! I agree, it is a little mesmerizing and quite exciting. For now, this is a game for my husband and I to play together. In a couple years, my son will be 10 and old enough to play with us. I’ve found that playing games together as a couple is a fun at-home “date night” too.
