Playskool Deci-Bot Review

We were able to review Playskool’s Deci-Bot, one of their Alphie Databots. Deci-Bot is for kids ages 3 and up.  Elizabeth, my 4 year old loves to learn. Of course she also loves to play.  It is important to find a toy that is both fun and teaches age-appropriate concepts. Otherwise, kids won’t play with it at all. Haven’t we all been there with products not-so-well-designed?

Elizabeth immediately started playing with Deci-Bot, figuring out which button did what. It really captured her attention. She gets so excited when she answers one of the questions correctly and Deci-Bot praises her with words of encouragement, lights, and music.

Great toy to teach kids numbers, adding, and subtracting. He also sings catching songs and says funny little jokes to get kids laughing.

Deci-Bot has 2 modes of play. The Explore Mode and the Find it Mode.  The Explore Mode allows kids to play with the numbers. Deci-Bot will say the # your child presses and count and light up on his fingers the # they pressed. Plus, if you hit the up or down arrow, Deci-Bot will subtract and add from the previous number.

Elizabeth enjoys the Play Mode on Deci-Bot the most. In this mode, Deci will ask your child various questions like “how many fingers do I have lit up?” If your child guesses incorrectly, Deci encourages kids to put up the same number of fingers on their hands and count them. If your child gets it right, he gives them a big praise with lights and music.
