We have finally installed the new Amana 21 cu. ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator and we couldn’t be happier! This 21 cu. ft. refrigerator is so well designed that it adds storage space where you need it. It’s called the space saver and it really works as you’ll see in pictures below.
First things first. Below is a picture of our new Amana 21 cu. ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator, right off the delivery truck. My 5 year old daughter and I couldn’t wait to start removing the tape and getting it ready to use! Just look at that gorgeous, fresh, new, clean refrigerator!
Seeing is believing. Our old refrigerator below was slightly smaller, slightly. It was not enough space for all of our food. See for yourself.
That’s pretty embarrassing but with a family of four, I cook a lot and we obviously drink a lot if you notice the 4 gallons of milk and gallon of juice. I needed more space but didn’t want an enormous refrigerator to take over our kitchen. The 21 cu. ft. size was just right for us.
So, we finished up some leftovers and I did end up tossing out a lot of old food that was hiding in the back of our old fridge. However, the rest is in the new fridge with plenty of room to spare. Below, you will see two layouts.
I have tons of room now for fresh food. Did you notice in the above pictures how I changed the adjustable shelves around? I’m still playing with the configuration to see what best suits our needs but I like that it is really easy to adjust. Plus, I haven’t even tried out the Gallon Door Storage for milk, although it is full of condiments, juice, and refrigerated doughs.

We actually have plans to inset the refrigerator so that it is flush with the cabinetry. This requires more home remodeling, since we seem to love adding more projects to our list. 🙂 We will be cutting an opening in the wall behind the refrigerator and will set the refrigerator back about 12 inches. This will provide a seamless look to our kitchen. Lucky for us the room behind the kitchen is a simple mud room and those extra inches won’t matter.
