Although my husband and I are big DIYers, there are some things that I have always left up to him to do. For instance, installing a showerhead, I have never attempted or even looked at the instructions on how to install a showerhead. I thought it was too complicated. All this has changed since I received a product sample and promotional item as a thank you for participating. I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Delta Faucets.
How to Install a Delta Showerhead #WomansIn2ition
I am a proud Delta Mom Ambassador. So, in order to live up to my role, I attempted and successfully installed my first showerhead a couple weeks ago. How empowering! I had no idea it could be so easy that even I could do it! That’s #WomansIn2ition! The instructions were easy to understand, even for a first timer like me.

To install the Delta In2ition showerhead, I first had to remove the existing showerhead. I simply unscrewed our existing showerhead with adjustable pliers. I removed the leftover old plumber’s Teflon tape. I applied new plumbers Teflon tape to the threads of the shower stem in the direction that the new showerhead tightens, this is to prevent any future water leaks. It’s easy and quick to do.
Next, I screwed on the new Delta. I tightened it additionally with my pliers. Next, I installed the handshower, which also was easy to do. I added plumbers Teflon tape to the threads of this as well. The handshower has a powerful magnet to lock the handheld shower firmly into place at the base of the showerhead. It just easily pops into place when not in use as a shower head.
It was that easy! Watch my short video on installing the Delta In2ition showerhead.
If you are a new DIYer, you’ll be happy to know that Delta is there to hold your hand along the way – with How To Videos. Check out this How To Install a Showerhead and Handshower video from Delta. It usually helps to see something done before you try it. This video helped me with my first showerhead installation.
I couldn’t believe how easy it was to install and now I feel empowered to install future products. In my first Delta Faucet Mom Ambassador! #WomansIn2ition post, I mentioned that I was going to put this into our new master bathroom but decided to install it in our kids bathroom so they could enjoy it until our remodel is done. Well, they love it so much with exclamations of: “This is AWESOME!!” and “This shower tickles!”
We decided to let them keep it. Our master bathroom project is underway but bathroom remodels take a LOT of time, so when it is time for installing a new showerhead in the master bathroom, I feel great knowing that I can take care of that project – with a new Delta In2ition showerhead of our own. I may even attempt to install the lavatory faucets too! As a women, it feels good to take care of things that typically guys handle. It is always good to learn new things and have new experiences in life – even DIY experiences.
