From the moment we checked into Sand Pebbles Inn, we felt like we were at home. This comfortable 25-room inn offers you a retreat from the busyness of life to a place where every moment is savored.
We arrived after a full day’s drive on Highway 1 from San Francisco through Big Sur, to Cambria. We were ready to relax and unwind. But first, a video tour of Sand Pebbles Inn.
Our room was inviting with ocean-side decor and charm. The entire hotel is in top-notch condition, with a beach, chabby chic feel. We were welcomed with fresh baked cookies every evening, putting a smile on our face.
Our room was spacious for a double-queen bed room. There was a small table with chairs next to the window and fireplace for relaxing and taking in the partial view of the ocean. It was dark when we arrived.

Each morning, we were delighted to a full hot breakfast complete with hot-off-the-iron waffles, pastries, cereals, and their signature hot oatmeal that we all loved. Who can resist all those toppings?!
If you are traveling with kids, you know the value of a free, hot breakfast in the morning to start your day off right.
Sand Pebbles Inn is located right on the rugged coastline with just a non-busy road and boardwalk between you and the beach. The boardwalk winds along the road for relaxing strolls along this shoreline where you might spy whales (during season) and other wildlife like harbor sea lions, seals, and more.
Across the road, you’ll find beach access and scenic views as far as the eye can see! It’s stunning and just steps from your room.
We enjoyed climbing on the roads and exploring the tide pools along the pristine beach.
People young and old enjoy Cambria for it’s natural wonders and small-town charm of this small beach town. We found many tourists were from California, making Cambria a hidden gem from those of use from out-of-state.
The atmosphere of the inn was relaxing, comfortable, and all-beach. We soaked it all in. Sand Pebbles Inn truly made us feel at home, I didn’t even lock our hotel room door like I always do elsewhere!
No detail was spared from complimentary fruit water, teas, and coffee in the lobby to movies, games, and books in our room to plenty of plush, clean towels in our room. We felt like their guests, not just customers.
We had such a restful, relaxing time at Sand Pebbles Inn, we didn’t want to leave. This is not uncommon for guests, I heard stories about other guests who cancelled their other plans and stayed their entire vacation at Sand Pebbles Inn. If you are looking for a restful vacation right on the Pacific Coast, this is for you. It would be lovely for a romantic getaway with your spouse too. This would be a great room for just the two of you.
