Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Waterpark
The Crown Reef Beach Resort is a vacationer’s dream come true. Not only is it on the ocean with oceanfront rooms and dining but there are many pools (indoor and out), hot tubs, lazy river, kiddie pools, and a waterpark coming soon! There is so much to do that you could spend your entire vacation at the resort!
My family spent a lot of time exploring all of the pools and somehow we still didn’t make it to one of the indoor pools! The pool decks and pools are kept very clean and are in excellent condition after the remodel. There are plenty of chairs, table, and lounge chairs for sunbathers too.
The renovations continue with an exciting ocean-front waterpark coming soon this Summer. It will feature a 2-person tube slide that will be 278-feet long and a 302 feet long body slide. We were able to see them being built, they each start off at the 4th floor southern rotunda, then wrap around to drop off into another new indoor pool that wasn’t even open when we were there. There will also be a 20-foot kiddie slide in our new indoor waterpark for younger kids.
The Lazy River winds around the pool and deck area for a relaxing trip down the river – or crazy, splashy trip if you are with my kids! 🙂

Crown Reef Beach Resort Suites
Enjoy spacious accommodations at Crown Reef Beach Resort. Choose oceanfront accomodations to fit your vacation from King Jacuzzi Suites to the Oceanfront Queen Deluxe Suite.
We enjoyed the Oceanfront Queen Deluxe Suite that can sleep up to 8 people. The suite opens up to a bedroom with double beds. In this room is also a TV, sitting chair, and closet with a safe.
Next, walk into your full kitchen that includes full size appliances with fully stocked cabinets with dishes, pots, and pans. This is perfect for vacationing families who would like to avoid the hassle of restaurants for every meal! 
Next to the kitchen is the bathroom with a door between the shower and toilet area and the sink area so busy families can get ready for the day quicker! 
The third living area includes a comfy pull-out sleeper couch, small dining table with chairs, TV, and a full size wall bed.
Finally, the living area opens up into your own private balcony that overlooks the ocean and pools.

We loved the beach at Crown Reef Beach Resort. Since the resort is located in Southern Myrtle Beach next to the State Park, there isn’t a lot of foot traffic and sun bathers from locations other than the resort. The waves were calm for the most part, allowing families with young children to splash and play in the ocean easily. You can walk out pretty fair and it is still shallow, giving young families peace of mind and plenty of play area. There are enough waves for kids to surf the waves on their buggy boards.
My kids are nature lovers and enjoyed finding sea weed and hermit crabs in the ocean. They brought their discoveries to shore for all to enjoy! The beach was so clean and the sand was soft and great for building sand castles too.
You can rent an umbrella and two beach chairs all day for about $30 from the life guard. I highly recommend this to avoid sunburns and to have a nice place to retreat to throughout the day. There are even discounts when you rent for more than one day.
Game On! Arcade
Crown Reef Beach Resort just built a brand new arcade called Game On! where you can spend hours playing games and earning tickets for awesome prizes! This is a great place during the heat of the afternoon!
Enjoy all your favorite games like air hockey, ice-ball, sink it, doodle jump, monopoly, and plenty of race games too. My daughter even scored 1,000 tickets one the wheel game!
Dining at Crown Reef Resort
There are several dining options at Crown Reef Beach Resort, including Town Center Dining for casual/fine dining, Swirl Ice Cream and Sweet Shop, Grab n’ Go Grill and Coffee Bar, and Loco Gecko Beach Shak. We liked Loco Gecko the best because we could get a quick bite to eat anytime with oceanfront seating or get it to go to enjoy in our room.
As you can see, we had a fantastic Myrtle Beach vacation. Making Crown Reef Beach Resort our home away from home was the perfect option. I know your family would enjoy it too!
