Hang on tight and be ready for a wild ride on a banana boat with Downwind Sails Watersports in Myrtle Beach!
I received tickets to facilitate this post.
Downwind Sails Watersports is located in South Myrtle Beach right next to where we stayed at Crown Reef Beach Resort.
We love the beach and splashing in the ocean. For each vacation, we try to get out on the ocean on a boat tour or something similar. This year, we got more adventurous and went on a banana boat ride!
What a thrilling experience! We were pulled into the ocean and up the coast by a jet ski. The driver was friendly and kept a close eye on us the entire time to make sure nobody fell in! You have to hang on tight because the banana boat crashes through the waves, leaving you bumping throughout the entire ride.
My one suggestion is to wear goggles, at least for your kids as you’ll be splashed in the face quite a bit on this fast-moving boat! My kids are 7 and 9 and are thrill seekers, so they loved it! You must be at least 44 inches or taller to ride. Be sure your kids are adventurous if they are young since they will have to hold on by themselves. My son fell a couple times but thankfully he fell inward and not outward! Life jackets are provided for everyone, just in case you fall over!
The ride is about 15 minutes long and is an experience you’ll always remember!
Downwind Watersports also offers jet skis, parasiling, sailing, ocean kayaks, and hobie cats rentals.
