I can’t believe that I lived to tell the tale of when I and my family went ziplining over alligators! That is some pretty serious bragging rights and I’m a brave mama! Yes, today, I ziplined over many alligators of all sizes and crocodiles at Crocodile Crossing at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park! My kids and husband did too but they are always braver than me!

Crocodile Crossing at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park Review
Can you see the fear in my eyes? Seriously, I almost chickened out a few times but ziplining over alligators at Crocodile Crossing with the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park was so much fun!!! In fact, once we go over the first obstacles and ziplining there was nothing to fear – it was just really, really cool to look down at the alligators. It gave us a behind-the-scenes tour of the alligator farm!
This is not an abbreviated gimmick of a ziplining course that just takes you over a small pit of alligators to say you did it. It is a 7+ acre course! There are 2 challenging courses to choose from. One is a 45 minutes/1 hour course and the other is a 90 minute/2 hour course, we did the shorter course.
With both courses, you’ll see live alligators and crocodiles of all sizes, tropical birds, and even red-ruffed lemurs. This is not just a ziplining course, it is also a ropes course which I personally think can be more difficult and scary at times. There are over 50 different obstacles to climb and zip through the zoo.

There is no danger though as you are secure with state-of-the-art ziplining equipment. At no point in time are you ever not secured and safe. Your safety gear never, ever leaves the line.
We had an amazing adventure at the Crocodile Crossing. I highly recommend this once in a lifetime opportunity for you and your family if you visit St. Augustine. The bragging rights alone are worth it but the memories you make with your kids are priceless! Plus, you can make new friends while on the course – it is amazing the connections you make when you are screaming for your dear life and encouraging eachother that you can do it! 🙂
Book your ziplining over alligators adventure when you plan your vacation. You get discounted admission to the Alligator Farm when you zip the zoo with Crocodile Crossing.
St. Augustine Alligator Farm Review
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park has been giving families the chance to see magnificent alligators up close since 1893. It is one of Florida’s oldest continuously running attractions!
There are several must-see shows at the Alligator Farm including Forest Friends, Realm of Alligator, Scales & Tails, Rain-forest, and Alligator Feeding. When we went, it was starting to rain.
We were able to enjoy the Alligator Feeding, something I really wanted me kids to experience since I had the opportunity as a kid and loved watching it! Their is a feeding twice daily. It is amazing to see how the alligators know when it is feeding time and start lining up, sort of like my dog when he smells me cooking in the kitchen! I love how the trainers know the alligators by name and feed them gently with their powerful jaw just inches from them!
There is so much more to see and do at the Alligator Farm but we’ll have to go back another day to experience it. We saw several areas that had alligators of different sizes and kinds but that was all we were able to see. There are also crocodiles, pythons, lemurs, bird rookery, native reptiles, exotic birds and mammals, birds of Africa and more. Since it started to rain and we weren’t prepared for it, we really only got to scratch the surface but for what we saw, it is 100% family fun!
