There are several ways to get around Put-in-Bay – on foot, in your car, in a golf cart, or bicycle. Our favorite and the most popular is on electric golf carts. We were able to check out the 4 passenger golf cart from Island Bike & Cart Rentals on our most recent trip to Put-in-Bay in exchange for this review.

If you ride the Miller Boat Line Ferry to Put-in-Bay, it is also the most convenient to get to! The island’s largest fleet of all-electric carts! Choose from 2, 4, and 6 passenger golf carts for your family’s needs. 
I highly recommend getting a golf cart while at Put-in-Bay, especially for families. You’ll enjoy cruising around the island and your kids won’t get worn out walking or riding a bike all day long. Plus, it is lots of fun! We enjoy just driving all around the island, switching seats for different perspectives throughout the day.
Although kids are not allowed to drive the golf carts, it doesn’t stop them from wanting to sit up front and put their hand on the wheel! My kids love riding the golf carts because they can either sit up front with mom or dad OR they can ride backwards in the back seat on the 4-passenger golf cart. Either way, they are happy campers! I found the golf carts from Island Bike & Cart Rentals to be very quiet while driving and speedy. I’m not sure if they run any faster than others but ours seemed to have a smooth ride. 
Rent with Island Bike & Cart Rentals
You can rent golf carts and bicycles by the hour or by the day starting at $11/hour for carts and $5/hour for bicycles. You can rent 2, 4 & 6-passenger carts for your family’s needs. For bikes, choose singles or tandems with single-speed coaster brakes for all ages and sizes. Once my kids get a couple years older, we will probably try out the bike rentals, for now, the golf cart is perfect for my young family.
Island Bike & Cart Rentals is open during the Summer typically from 8:30 – 8pm. Time varies based on weekdays, weekends, and season. Check here for hours. Be sure to coordinate your turn in time with the Miller Ferry departure time!
