While visiting Put in Bay, be sure to stop by Perry’s Vicorty & International Peace Memorial. This memorial was built to honor those that fought in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812. It is also to celebrate the peace that we have between Britain, Canada, and the USA. Towering 352 feet, it is a sight to see! You can even ride an elevator to the top for a couple dollars. The view from the top is breathtaking! You can even see Canada!

The Perry’s Vicorty & International Peace Memorial has plenty of activities for kids including becoming a Junior Ranger, programs daily, and even scouting opportunities. While we visited, we had a full demonstration of the musket and how it was used during the Battle of Lake Erie. It was very cool to see and chat with this shoulder.
Be sure to stop by the museum while there. You and your kids will learn all about the Battle of Lake Erie with real photos and a full set up of miniature war ships on display. Afteward, head on over to the Put-in-Bay playground where kids can play on several playgrounds, check out cannons, and run around the large grassy area. Read more about Put-in-Bay for kids.
