Stay and Play at Maui Sands Resort and Indoor Waterpark

This winter has been absolutely brutal, and this time of year when spring seems like it will never arrive, it is a great time to take a weekend, or just a day to get away somewhere close to home. Maui Sands Resort & Indoor Waterpark isn’t far away in Sandusky, Ohio. Last weekend, our family of four decided to get away from home and into warmer weather at Maui Sands Resort.

Walking into Maui Sands, we received a warm greeting from staff and the decor immediately put you in the mind that you were in vacation, far away from the snow and cold wind. With bamboo ceilings, ceiling fans, stone floors and a variety of tiki statues, we immediately knew that we would have a great time.

Affordable Stay for Any Budget at Maui Sands

One of the great things about Maui Sands Resort & Indoor Waterpark is that any family will be able to afford to stay here. Many indoor waterparks can cost as much as $600 for 2 nights for their smallest rooms. Maui Sands is budget friendly with rooms that are as simple as 2 queen bed rooms, rooms with 2 sleeping areas adults and children separate, as well as luxury rooms with up to sleeping areas.

Rooms cost anywhere from $179-279.00 per night, these prices are a waterpark package with your waterpark passes included in your cost. You can add extras to your cost, such as paying ahead to eat breakfast at the buffet for each morning you are there as well. Our family loved the breakfast buffet. You really don’t have to go anywhere for this vacation and can stay and play your entire time at Maui Sands.

Our family of 4 had plenty of space in a Queen Lily room. The girls enjoyed having space to color in the mornings before the waterpark opened.

Our accommodations in a Queen Lily room, which was outfitted with 2 queen beds, were comfortable and had plenty of room for our family of 4. We enjoyed using the mini fridge to extra drinks and snacks while we were visiting Maui Sands. The rooms were decorated in the Hawaiian theme that was throughout Maui Sands, and would be expected.

Maui Sands is a great location for anyone visiting Sandusky during any time of year. It is 6 miles from Cedar Point, and only 5 miles away from the Jet Express (Put-in-Bay), and 20 miles from the Miller Boat Line during seasonal months. Starting March 13, 2015, Maui Sands Resort and Indoor Waterpark will be opened everyday through spring break and Easter break, perfect timing to get out of the cold and into some fun in the water!

I can’t wait to tell you about the waterpark at Maui Sands, of course, this was the big highlight of our trip and I’m excited to let you know everything it has to offer for both parents and kids!
