On a clear day, you can actually see Canada! Our kids were amazed that they could see another country from Put-in-Bay! It was an excellent time to remind them of the long-lasting peace that the USA has with Canada. Did you know that 5 miles into Lake Erie is the longest undefended border in the world?Perry's Monument Put-in-Bay

Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial is a must-see for any visitor to the island. If you have small children, don’t worry about them falling off the top because there is a very thick, fairly tall wall all around the top. It makes those of us with a little fear of heights feel safer too as you cannot see straight down to the ground – just out to the beautiful vistas.
