There is plenty to do with kids at Zoombezi Bay water park in Columbus, Ohio. We were invited to check it out this week by Experience Columbus in exchange for this post. We spent most of our time at the Zoombezi Bay Barracuda Bay with the 4-1/2 level tree house with the dumping bucket, and spraying water everywhere! There is plenty of climbing and sliding options there too! There are places to swim too – which my kids love. The water is so clear, it really feels like you are on an island vacation!
We also spend a lot of time on the Roaring Rapids and wave pool. The Roaring Rapids is a really long “lazy river” with plenty of rapids and action to move you along, it’s 1,500 feet long and twists and turns all around the park. My kids like it because you can either use the tube or swim the river – most places require you have a tube.
The Wild Tides Wave Pool is a very popular place for people to hang out, especially on the weekends. It is huge with waves reaching up to 4 feet high and pool depth up to 6 feet. My kids love, love, love the waves – crashing into them, swimming on them, and just riding the waves. It is always the highlight of our Zoombezi Bay water park experience.
Zoombezi Bay offers a variety of different kinds of water slides from tube slides to raft slides. My favorite is the Cyclone, you get in a raft with up to 5 people total and go down the enclosed dark tube until you are thrown out into the huge bowl at the end and then drop into the small pool below. Another raft option that I like are the Sea Tubes, it is always more fun to experience a water slide with another person!
My kids are too old for the Katoomba Lagoon kiddie area but it is a nice 4,000 sq ft section that is zero depth entry that only goes up to 14″ deep. Your little ones will love it.
ZOOMPASS
This was the first year that I noticed the ZOOMPASS, it is a way for you to zoom right pass those waiting in line for your favorite attractions. The passes are $14.99 and can be used on:
- Dolphin Dash
- Cyclone
- Tahitian Twister
- Python Plunge and Big Boa Falls
- Sea Snakes Bowl Slides & Sea Tubes
On hot, busy weekends, it is definitely worth it!
