The best way to experience a Cedar Point vacation is by staying at Hotel Breakers. Cedar Point Hotel Breakers Review
Hotel Breakers is the original Cedar Point resort, dating back over 100 years. The look and feel is that of a historic resort with large chandelier in the lobby and original Tiffany glass. I spoke with several guests that have been vacationing at Hotel Breakers for more than 30 years. Once you stay at Hotel Breakers, it will soon become a family tradition.
[slickr-flickr tag=breakershotel]The amenities at Breakers are perfect for families looking for a beach retreat while enjoying Cedar Point. With the beach, several pools, restaurants, and just steps away from Cedar Point, Soak City, and Challenge Park, Hotel Breakers is the place to stay while visiting Cedar Point.
Discounted Cedar Point Tickets and Early Entry
Guests staying at Breakers can buy Cedar Point tickets for just $32 a piece instead of the $59.99 price at the gate. This is the lowest price for Cedar Point tickets available! Breakers will turn your trip to Cedar Point into a more enjoyable, relaxing experience. Guests staying at Breakers can enter Cedar Point 1 hour early, that means riding all your favorite roller coasters without lines and before the heat of the day!
Guests staying at Breakers have a separate resort entrance into Cedar Point and Soak City. There are no lines, getting you into and out of the park in a flash. Plus, there is free Cedar Point parking at Breakers. The resort entrance is located toward the middle of Cedar Point, so I felt like we were able to get to our favorite roller coasters faster and explore the park in a more relaxed fashion.
Plus, when we wanted to head back to our suite to rest for a while, take a quick shower, or eat, we could! After we road the water rides at Cedar Point, we could change in our room. This is a convenience that makes the stay at Breakers totally worth it. We found that we could enjoy our day at Cedar Point and Soak City in a more enjoyable and relaxing fashion while staying at Breakers, plus we weren’t exhausted at the end of the day.
Enjoy Cedar Point Beaches on Lake Erie
Staying at Breakers is the only way to enjoy the beautiful beaches at Cedar Point. The beach is just steps from the hotel. It is the perfect place to sunbathe, play sand volleyball, build sandcastles, and swim. As a mom with small children, I liked that there were several lifegaurds walking the beach and in the life guard stands.

Hotel Breakers has 2 outdoor and 1 indoor pool and all have lifeguards. The pools are located at the beach-side of Breakers. The pools are clean and very well taken care of. We were there on a 95 degree day, so it was very welcomed amenity. Even with the heat, the pools were not crowded.
[slickr-flickr tag=breakerspools]My family enjoyed going from pool to pool to enjoy each. The 3 whirlpool hot tubs were nice too. One was very large with several waterfalls. It was so relaxing and fun to have the waterfall splash against our backs while relaxing and taking in the view of the beach.
Hotel Breakers Restaurants
Another reason that Hotel Breakers has all the features of a beach resort is the convenience of in-resort dining. Choose from T.G.I Friday’s for indoor and patio seating, Tomo Hibachi Restaurant for sushi and Hibachi grilled foods, Perkins Restaruant for the classics, the Poolside Deli and the Ice Cream Parlor. You never need to leave the resort for a meal. Just like any resort, expect to pay a little more for your meal than at your home town.
Hotel Breakers Rooms and Suites
Hotel Breakers offers both rooms and suites to accommodate your family’s size and needs. As a family of four, with two young children, staying in a Hotel Breakers suite was perfect. We stayed on the 8th floor in a suite, it was very clean and spacious with a living area with a pull-out sofa couch, tv, and small dining table. There was a small kitchen area with a sink, microwave, dorm-size refrigerator, and coffee maker. The separate bedroom had two queen size beds and a large window for another scenic view. My kids chose to sleep on the pull-out sofa sleeper to begin the night because they wanted to keep the balcony door open to hear the Cedar Point rides as we put them to bed earlier than the park closed.
[slickr-flickr tag=breakersbalcony]Our favorite part of the suite was the screened-in balcony. We were able to sit on the balcony to take in beautiful views of the beach, Lake Erie, and of Cedar Point. The view was amazing both in the daytime and at night with the Cedar Point rides lit up. We were even able to check out the last part of the Luminosity Show that we watched with fireworks!
Final Thought on Hotel Breakers
Staying on the grounds of Cedar Point at Hotel Breakers is the best way to experience and enjoy the trip. Whether you live in Ohio and want to fully enjoy Cedar Point as well as a quick “Lake Erie beach vacation” or if you are driving in from out-of-state, Hotel Breakers is the beach resort for you. I recommend staying at least 2 nights to fully enjoy and take advantage of Breakers. We stayed just one and could barely take in everything.
