Massanutten Indoor Waterpark

The Massanutten Indoor Waterpark is always heated to 84° and fun year-round!  There is so much to explore! We headed straight to the body and tube slides! There are 8 waterslides to conquer at Massanutten Indoor Waterpark. I love the tube slides the most because you can double up and ride down the slides with up to 3 people!!

The large water fortress offers endless fun with two tipping buckets (1 large and 1 small), a half a dozen slides of all kinds and sizes, waterfalls, water cannons, sprays and squirters, and many obstacles to maneuver.

Who needs the ocean to surf when you have the FlowRider® Endless Wave. This is a one person at a time attraction with several lifeguards on hand to help you learn to surf! It is harder than it looks!

There is also a large hot tub that goes from inside to outside called the Shenandoah Hot Springs. It is spacious enough for many people to enjoy and I’m sure it is really popular during the cooler months.  Our favorite was the lazy river that wraps all around the indoor waterpark. The water is warm!  You will get wet as there are several waterfalls spread throughout, geysers, and people over head ready to dump a bucket of water on you. Don’t worry about your hair, moms, get in and start having fun with your kids right away and get soaked!

For the youngsters, head over to the Frog Pond for their 12″ deep pool. This pint-size pool has plenty of fun sprays, swings, and sprinklers to delight your young children.

Massanutten Outdoor Waterpark

The Massanutten Outdoor Waterpark is open Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend and included in the price for the indoor waterpark.  It is the perfect size waterpark to enjoy during summer months whether you are staying at the Massanutten Resort or just in town for the day.  It has a wave pool, head-first waterslides, and large activity pool.

We spent most of our time at the wave pool where the waves reach 3 feet!

This is a zero depth entry pool that makes it perfect for young kids to join the fun with their parents. There are waterfall mushrooms like the one below for kids of all ages to delight in too.

The activity pool winds around a couple activities including the rope climb across the water and a water basketball court!

Kids of all ages, but especially younger kids will enjoy the large splash pad area with plenty of ways to get wet and cool off on a hot summer day.

Back inside the waterpark there are plenty of dining options – we recommend the There is also a large arcade on the level above (where the tall glass wall are below). You can visit Diamond Jim’s Arcade even if you aren’t visiting the waterpark for lots of family fun entertainment.

For dining, we recommend the Snack Shack while visiting Massanutten Waterpark. It is located within the waterpark so you don’t even have to change your clothes to grab lunch, dinner, or a snack. You can even bring the food outside to the outside waterpark. They have a strict rule of no outside drinks or food, so I was happy to see the prices were very reasonable. In fact, my kids both had a kids meal that was under $4 each with a drink. My 11 year old daughter couldn’t finish it and my 13 year old was plenty full.

On your next Virginia family vacation, add Massanutten Waterpark to your itinerary. You’ll have a fantastic day no matter what the weather is outside!

The waterpark will be closed this year for maintenance between Monday, September 10 through Sunday, September 30, 2018.
