Backyard Spring Picnic and the Bad Aliens!

Thanks to everyone who made it to our Backyard Discovery Spring Picnic! The weather threatened us with rain and hail just hours before the party but for those that made it, we had a super fun time!

When you get 10 kids together ages 3 – 10, it’s hard to tell what you will have. Chaos usually! During our Backyard Discovery Spring Picnic, it was like Heaven for us parents. We just sat back and watched the kids have a super time on the playset! They played so well together.

Kids Having FUN Playing on Backyard Discovery Playset

I’ve said it before but it just amazes me how many play stations are on the Patriot playset. It is recommended for kids ages 3-10 and up to 10 to play safely at a time. We tried those stats out exactly at our party with the exact kid ages AND 10 kids playing at once. They played so well together and played full force for about 2 hours only stopping to eat!

Kids Love to Swing!

At all times during the party, you could find at least 2 kids swinging, sometimes 4! I love that the kids can swing together all at once and I don’t have to worry about their safety on the Backyard Discovery playset. They take safety almost as seriously as us moms and design everything with your kids in mind.

Kids Took on the Bad Aliens in Outer Space Jungle!

Their imaginations took them to outer space to fighting the bad aliens in the Jungle! The Backyard Discovery Patriot became the Fighter Ship in Outer Space! The whole playset was transformed into battle mode, the kids especially loved the spiral slide and the swings that often allowed them to quickly get away from the bad aliens! lol I love seeing new stories unfold when kids are playing and using their imaginations!

Great Picnic Food

What I love about Summertime parties is that they can be held outdoors with great sandwiches and everyone is happy! You’ve gotta have tasty food to pull the kids away from playing, Panera Bread food did the trick! Thanks to Backyard Discovery for the yummy food from Panera Bread!

Kids had fun eating at the picnic table on the Backyard Discovery Patriot playset model. I was surprised that there was plenty of room for a 5, 7, and 9 year old to sit together on the picnic table. Kids also found other spots to hang out and eat. I found it interesting that the kids didn’t sit at the tables near the food but the kids took their plates to the playset to hang out and eat together.

Back to Playing on Playset

After eating, it was full force back to the playset! They played so well together taking turns. I don’t think we had even one incident with not sharing.

We did have a couple run ins and a fall/jump but all was well. I was so glad that we installed the kid-friendly mulch earlier this week when I saw a boy fall/jump to the ground. He didn’t even cry thankfully.  It was the perfect time to talk to the parents about how Backyard Discovery is set up to be a safe playset. Backyard Discovery actually recommended having a “Safe-T Zone” around the playset with a loose fill material or I don’t think we would have considered it. We talked about their Play Safely Tips and just the great features of Backyard Discovery products. It is good to be armed with research and good information when making a purchase such as a playground when your kids safety is of concern.

It’s good for the kids to have the steps option and the Rock Wall. It gives the kids easy and more challenging options plus it allows more kids to reach the 2 higher play surfaces at the same time!

These kids bonded and just loved hanging out together. They played hard, played good together, and I know at least my kids wore themselves out and dropped into bed that night!

Families had fun at Backyard Discovery Spring Picnic

I never thought of having a playset as something to plan a party around but after this party, I will do it again! It’s just such a relaxed and fun time for the parents and a super time playing for the kids! It is a casual way to get to know people better in your neighborhood, families from your kids’ school, etc.
