My family has enjoyed watching the active and adorable snow leopard cubs at the Akron Zoo since they were born last May. They are so fun to watch as they engage with eachother in playful fun – running, jumping, and climbing all over the exhibit. They remind me a lot of my active puppy! 🙂
Now, Raj and Sabu are leaving the Akron Zoo as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan. They are each a healthy 55 lbs.
Raj is going “home” to Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, MI to meet his grandmother Lotus. Raj’s mother Shanti was born there too. and Sabu is heading to Roger Williams Zoo in Povidence, RI.

Snow leopards are endangered because of loss of habitat and illegal poaching. There are only 4,000 left in the wild and 155 snow leopards in the Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan, we were so fortunate to enjoy these two cubs for 9 months at the Akron Zoo.
Bye Bye Snow Leopard Cubs
Raj and Sabu will be on exhibit daily until they are relocated the first part of March. Be sure to make a trip to the Akron Zoo soon.
Winter hours are from 11am – 4pm and admission is just $6 per person. Kids under 2 are free.
