Last night was the opening night of Cirque du Soleil’s OVO at The Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio, and wow, what a show it was!
As someone who’s seen quite a few Cirque shows, my family agreed this was one of the best! Plus, it was made extra special spending it with my husband and two older teens. We all had a fabulous time.

A Trip Down Memory Lane
The excitement started right from the car ride to the venue. We talked about the Cirque shows we’d seen when the kids were little and how much fun we had back then. It’s great when you find something that spans the ages, keeping everyone excited—teenagers included!
More Than Just a Performance
What’s cool about OVO is that it doesn’t use regular spoken words. Instead, the actors use body language, sounds, and this funny made-up insect language.

You might think that would make it hard to understand, but it’s quite the opposite. It was fascinating to see how they told the story with just actions and expressions. And let me tell you, the humor was spot-on. Everyone in the audience, kids and grown-ups alike, were laughing and having a blast.

Better Than Vegas? Yep!
Believe it or not, I’d say this show was even better than the one we saw in Las Vegas, which was pretty amazing itself. The acrobatics were incredible! At the Covelli Centre, you can see everything perfectly no matter where you sit because the stage is right in the middle and they only use about half the arena.

Easy Going at the Covelli Centre
The Covelli Centre was a great place for this event. It’s easy to park, easy to get around, and they have a good variety of snacks that won’t break the bank. If you’re planning to go, maybe bring about $50 for some drinks and snacks to make the night complete.
I definitely recommend checking out OVO. It’s perfect for a family night out, whether you’ve got younger kids or teenagers. The show has something for everyone and really brings people together, laughing and enjoying the time. Plus, it’s just plain fun to watch all the colorful scenes and amazing tricks!
