Get outside this fall wit the MetroParks Fall Hiking Spree! This is a great way to enjoy the beautiful scenery this fall while getting exercise and spending family time together. This 3-month event started Sept 1 and runs through November 30th.
To receive hiking rewards, just hike 8 designated trails or more. Put it on the calendar for Fall Hiking Spree Night, so you never forget. We’ve found that once you commit to the spree, you’ll hike even more trails!
If this is your first year hiking, you’ll receive a hiking staff and commemorative shield at the end. Veteran hikers will receive a shield each year that they complete the hikes.
The best part is that the hikes are free! The rewards are even free for Summit County residents – if you are out of the county, it is $10 for first-year hikers and $5 for veteran hikers.
Download the MetroParks Fall Hiking Spree list of trails here or visit the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm (1828 Smith Rd., Akron) and all Acme Fresh Market stores.
My family can be found hiking at least a couple times a week – we love getting out in nature. We have our favorite trails that we seem to always go back to like the Deep Lock Quarry, Nature Realm (where my husband and I got engaged), and Silver Creek. We also love exploring the new trails and parks.

We are so blessed to have such an amazing system of parks and trails with the Summit MetroParks! If you haven’t explored the MetroParks, make this the season your family does! There are short trails and long trails, so you can easily even walk a trail during the evenings during the weekdays or a couple on the weekends.
