Free Family Fun with Fido at Bark in the Park 2012

My family had such a blast at last years annual Bark In The Park and Pet Expo event benefiting the animals at The Humane Society of Greater Akron!  It was a fun day to spend as a family and even my dogs had a blast getting to “sniff” new friends and get lots of love and treats too!  If you have a furry family member I would encourage you to participate in this years Bark In The Park event.  The event takes place Saturday May 12, 2012 from 11am-3 pm at Springfield Lake.  It is such a great event to support a much needed organization in our community! Presented by Cascade Subaru and the Lisle M. Buckingham Endowment Fund of the Akron Community Foundation.

What else will be at Bark In The Park and Pet Expo?

Lots!  We enjoyed walking through the vendor booths and seeing the latest trends in pet supplies, treats and more!  We even had our dog microchipped at their low cost microchipping table which is such a great idea for all pet owners to do for their dogs!  I would have to say that our favorite part of the day was the Police Dog Demo by B.A.R.K.  T-boy still talks about it and is super excited to see the amazing dogs in action to aid in our law officers everyday duties!  Our pups favorite event was the ice cream eating contest and although my pup didn’t win it was quite a sight seeing him try!!

  • Fun vendor booths including a photo booth for you and your pets
  • DJ services by Event Entertainment Services
  • Demo by Wagtime-trained pet owners and their dogs that visit with patients and their family members during hospital stays
  • HSGA will have adoptable animals available to meet and greet
  • Police Dog Demo by  B.A.R.K
  • Ice Cream Eating Contest for the Dogs (so fun)
