Helping Kids with Back-toSchool #Tools4BTS

It is time to start thinking about back-to-school. For many kids, about 15 million back-to-school means being left unsupervised after school. It is a tough spot to be in – for kids and parents. That is why I fully support the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. They offer quality after-school programs to support kids academically and help provide the building blocks for a successful future.  I am honored to be a Boys and Girls Club Back to School Club Ambassador to share with you ways that we can all help kids with back-to-school needs. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Saying you support a good cause or program like the Boys & Girls Club is easy to do but finding easy ways to actually support can sometimes be tricky. Unless you seek out opportunities to donate time or money, then nothing gets done. All through the month of July, JcPenney asked customers to round up to the nearest dollar with their JcPenney Cares Round Up Campaign. Programs like this make it easy for customers to support a good cause in a quick, easy, and productive way.

So far, in the month of July $892,920 was raised for Boys & Girls Clubs of America at JcPenney! In 2012, over 1 million dollars was donated by JcPenney customers!

August 1-September 3, 2013, the Disney Store is partnering with customers with a National Supply Drive, which I will tell you more about next week.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America is a cause worth supporting, whether with their in-store programs, at the clubs, or otherwise. They provide a safe place for kids so they are not alone after school. The provide educational support and activities. They offer programs in leadership, life skills, and character development. Kids have opportunities to learn health and life skills, art, sports, fitness, and more. The results of these programs are easily measured with improved lives.
