I just got off the phone with my mother-in-law who is shopping at the craft store for materials to make my nephew his first soft, baby Christmas book like she did for my kids. Another friend just boasted that she has 1/2 of her Christmas shopping done! Wow, it is already time to start thinking about Christmas.
I like all the shiny new stuff that each Christmas season brings, you know, all the toy with all the bells and whistles. However, I also get a little extra sentimental at Christmas, I delight in traditions that have been passed down from generations. That is why I am happy to tell you about a holiday classic that has been updated and released after 30 year, Flicka, Ricka, Dicka and Their New Skates.
Flicka, Ricka, Dicka and Their New Skates Review
Flicka, Ricka, Dicka and Their New Skates is a lovely hardcover book with glittery sparkles accenting the snow and ice on the cover. The book comes with classic paper dolls that your kids will enjoy dressing in their ice skating clothes. Elizabeth has never had paper dolls before, so I’m eager to see how she enjoys this.

Flicka, Ricka, Dicka Story
The story is all takes place in Sweden on Christmas morning. Flicka, Ricka, and Dicka open their Christmas present of new ice skates. The story goes on to tell how they met a new friend, Bertie and how the sisters saved him from an ice-skating disaster when he fell through the ice. From there, the sisters took care of Bertie. In return, Bertie gave each girl a present the following day. It is a very nice story filled with kindness, manners, friendship, and helping others.

This book is intended for kids preschool age through 3rd grade.
