The Zoo was closed today- which is a good thing I think. I for one would not want to drag my kids out to the zoo with boots, snow pants, hats, gloves, hair ties, belts, extra shirts, constant thoughts of Christmas Day and the ever present desire to fall face first in snow.
But, the employees at the zoo had to GO to work today- which is also a good thing- no one knows quite what its like to see an almost domesticated penguin go without his daily intake of hand fed fish! A few pictures were published today – take a look.

We do go to the zoo several times during the winter, as long as it isn’t snow covered! lol Winter is a great time to see animals because some can be very active, such as the snow leopard.
I love the zoo but no enough to drag my kid out in the col & snow either. I hate snow and we are supposed to get more!
