During the holiday season families often do more traveling then normal. Every other year was have a big family Christmas that means traveling! I always worry about being on the road near holidays because you never know how reckless or unsafe someone else can be. This means it is extra important for us to make sure our children are safe in our cars.

About Buckle Up for Life
Buckle Up for Life teaches families about motor-vehicle safety. Their entire goal is to teach proper use/install to prevent child motor-vehicle injuries and death. Research shows that in the U.S. 1 in 4 child car seats are properly installed! 1 in 4! Many children’s injuries and deaths could be avoided with proper use and/or install of car seats, booster seats and seat belts. I always worry about moving our car seats into a different car. Buckle Up for Life has a section of their website just to show how to properly use and install car seats.
The Program
Back in 2004, Cincinnati Children’s and Toyota teamed up to create Buckle Up for Life. Buckle Up for Life is a community-based safety education program that educates families on critical car safety behaviors and provides free child car seats to families in need. They work in close collaboration with local hospital partners and churches. Buckle Up for Life with Toyota’s funding has expanded the program nationwide and is now in 14 cities.
