This is a good year. People are working, HELP WANTED Signs are a little more plentiful than usual, and the winter of 2018 was long and dreadful.. and long. Besides cleaning up your yard and waving hello to the lovely new couple that live caddy corner to your home, it’s time to be proactive and get people together!
Consider- the humble block party. Akron City Government’s Community Events Division is in charge of approving Block Parties, and will aid in barricading and blocking off your street during your event. Their telephone number is: 330-375-2835.
The application has a $40 fee, but over the span of several neighbors, it’s a modest cost to get everyone outside and together. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to the Recreation Bureau, 220 South Balch Street, Akron OH 44302- and they suggest at least a 2 week warning:)
