Medina County Annual Adopt-a-thon 2014

Did you know that for over 15 years the Medina County Auditors Office has held an annual pet adoption event?  Well, I had no idea until last week when I got Auditor Mike Kovack’s weekly email. Among all the wonderful events he listed was the Medina County Pet Adopt-a-thon.  I can’t begin to tell you how much I miss having a pet.  We had cats when we lived in California, but we couldn’t bring them with us.  Since then our house has felt empty.

The Right Pet Finds You at Medina County Annual Adopt-a-thon

I am attending the Medina County Pet Adpot-a-thon with my boys, with the goal of the right pet finding us.  With about 30 different rescues attending to choose from I am sure we will find the right pet at the right time.  They won’t just have cats and dogs though they will also have snakes and turtles, and even some other wonderful pets.  There will also be vendors of pet supplies so even if you already have a pet this even will still be helpful and a lot of fun.

In addition to all of the animals in need of homes there will also be drawing with prizes, pet blessings, obedience demos and so much more.  If you find an animal you love and want to give a forever home, just know that each shelter or rescue has its own adoption fee, some are very inexpensive others may be over $200.00.  I am not so secretly hoping that we find the right addition to our family but I am trying really hard not to get my hopes up. ( Not so successfully.)

The Medina County Adopt-a-thon is a FREE event with FREE parking!  So head over to the Medina County Community Center and see if your heart gets stolen by the perfect critter for you.
