Memorial Day weekend is this weekend! Below is a list of Memorial Day Parades and Activities in Akron, Ohio area for 2014.
Memorial Day Parade, Ceremony, and Car Show in Green
The annual Memorial Day Parade, Ceremony, Pancake Breakfast, and Car Show will take place on Monday, May 26, 2014. Green Fire will hold a pancake breakfast beginning at 7:00 a.m. at Fire Station #1 (the corner of Massillon and Steese Roads), sponsored by Green Fire Local 2964.
Parade kick-off is at 10:00 a.m. from the Green High School parking lot. A community picnic immediately follows the Memorial Ceremony. There will also be a car show from noon – 3pm.
Hudson Memorial Day Parade
Make plans to attend the Hudson Memorial Day Parade on Memorial Day, May 26, 2014 at 10 am -1:30 pm. Parade starts at ACME Plaza and proceeds down Rts. 303 and 91 to Markillie Cemetery. Sponsored & organized by the American Legion Family.
Bandstand Concert – Hudson Jazz Bands I & II concert is from 7-9pm on the Gazebo Green. For more information call the Bandstand Committee (330) 958-5800.

The Kenmore Community Days Parade is on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11am starting at Kenmore High School and ending at festival grounds at Prentiss Park.

Marc’s Great American Rib Cook Off & Music Festival
Head on up to Cleveland for Marc’s 20th Annual Great American Rib Cook Off & Music Festival is Friday, May 23-26, 2014. Enjoy free admission on Saturday and Sunday from noon until 3pm. Kids 12 and under are free every day, all day.

Cedar Point Free for Military and Discounts for Family
Military members receive free admission to Cedar Point on Memorial Day weekend. All active, retired, and honorably-discharged members with valid ID, including active duty ID, retired personnel ID, VA ID or a copy of DD-214 discharge papers and a photo ID.
Family members of military personnel will also receive a special discount on park admission. They will be able to buy a regular ticket at $38.99, which is $21 less than the normal admission cost.
Military members can also receive free admission into Soak City, which opens Saturday.
