We took advantage of the warmer weather earlier this week and went to the Akron Zoo. They have been very busy this winter giving the Farmland area a major facelift.

We always have enjoyed the Akron Zoo Farmland because it is a chance for kids to interact with the animals and feed the sheep. We were surprised to see that the new train station is already built! It looks fabulous, doesn’t it?

I never thought you could milk a cow at a zoo but later this Spring, you’ll be able to milk a cow at the Akron Zoo. Well, it’s not real but it’s the same principles being taught. This cow is on display in the zoo lobby until the Farmland opens.

I’m not sure if they moved this playground ship from beside the old train area or if this is new. Either way, the below playground is now located right at the entrance of Farmland, near the gardens with fountains. It was super clean so it looked new. It was the most popular place to hang out! Plus, there are plenty of places for moms to rest with picnic tables right next to it. Let your kids run and have fun!

So, I really thought it was going to be a real cow that would be available for milking. I think I’m glad that it’s not a real one – that would be a long day for the poor girl!
It does look like it Sara, but it looks cleaned up and new again so I’m not 100% sure!
That L=looks like the boat that was next to the train before. I can’t wait to get the kids out to the zoo!
