The Village of Peninsula is kicking off their summer long list of festivities with the Ramp Up! Festival at the BrandyWine Country Club this Saturday the 26th from 11am to 5pm. Food Vendors wil be on hand, artisans too. So if you’re in the need to taste some wild summer- check it out!
What is a Ramp you ask?
A ramp is basically a wild leek. Described by those in Peninsula as having a strong garlic and onion flavor -rich, earthy, lingering and not like anything else.
I like the part that it is not like anything else! Of course, I do love earthy flavors in Indian food too, so go figure.
You can read all about the Ramp Up Festival at Explore Peninsula.
Here are a few links I found to some nifty looking ramp recipes!
