My son is really into Skylanders – what boy isn’t? He really wanted to have a Skylanders birthday cake this year, so we did a google search for Cakes in Akron, Ohio and found Home Sweet Home Cakes and More.
The owner and baker, Donna Panetta is a local Cuyahoga Falls mom. She started Home Sweet Home Cakes and More several years ago as a way to stay at home with her kids. I hoped that Donna Panetta could create a Skylanders birthday cake since my son’s heart was set on it. She asked me what his favorite Skylanders characters were and designed a custom birthday cake just for him! He loved it! See him ooh-ing and aww-ing below!
Home Sweet Home Cakes and More ran with our Skylanders birthday cake idea to create this truly custom cake. She asked my son’s favorite cake flavors and made one of each – chocolate and yellow. I like that we had two different flavors to serve at the party since sometimes kids can be picky! The larger cake was a delicious chocolate with buttercream icing. The Skylander on top was my son’s favorite, Ignitor! The colors were right on too!
Every Skylanders fan knows that everything revolves around the Portal of Power. Home Sweet Home Cakes and More created a Skylanders Portal of Power cake as the second cake. The design was right on – it looks just like the Skylanders Portal of Power! All the kids at my son’s birthday party said the cake was awesome and started talking all about their favorite Skylanders!
The above custom cakes from Home Sweet Home Cakes and More cost $45. You can’t get anything close to this at your local bakery for something this custom and size. It was totally unique, tasted great, and was huge.
