Elijah says, “I want the good kind of cereal!” Cascadian Farm “Live Green Together” Review

I have always heard that organic foods are good for you but have not ventured down the organic section in the grocery store much. I have assumed wrongly that the food taste like cardboard and priced too expensively.  I was given the opportunity to try Cascadian Farm bars and cereals, I was skeptical. I have been reading a book on healthy living and it stated that organic foods actually taste better. One bite of the Cascadian Farms Dark Chocolate Almond granola bar and I became a believe in Cascadian Farms Organic Foods!

Hands-On Cascadian Farm Review

The Cascadian Farm “Live Green Together” Prize Pack offers a great sampling of products including:
Fruitful O’s cereal, Cinnamon Crunch cereal, Chocolate Chip Chewy granola bars, Dark Chocolate Almond Granola, Dark Chocolate Almond granola bars, Oats & Honey granola, and an eco-friendly grocery bag.

The Dark Chocolate Almond granola bars and the Chocolate Chip Chewy granola bars were a big hit with the entire family. They are moist, chewy, and delicious! No cardboard or dry tasting products here. I was so surprised at how satisfying and chewy the granola bars were.  I have to admit for the sake of the review, I ate 2 granola bars in one afternoon. They were seriously that good. We packed the Cascadian Farm granola bars with us for a mid-hike treat last week. The kids loved them and wanted more. If you love dark chocolate, these bars are for you.

Cascadian Farm kids cereal was a bigger hit than I could have imagined. I allowed the kids to try the cereal at snack time before bed. They each tried the Fruitful O’s cereal and Cinnamon Crunch cereal. You would have thought my kids were starving because they both wanted more and more of each. Then they went on to devour the Oats & Honey granola and Dark Chocolate Almond Granola. Is organic food that much better?! They absolutely loved the cereals. We have cereal about 3-4 times a week and I can honestly say I’ve never seen such a positive response to cereal, especially cereal that is healthy.

The next morning, I asked my kids what they would like for breakfast. Elijah, age 5 said “I want the good kind of cereal!” He passed up the sugary cereals and went for the organic Cascadian Farm cereal. My daughter agreed, she wanted the Fruitful O’s.

I have tried many fruity “o” cereals. The Cascadian Farm Fruitful O’s can be describe as sweet but not sugary sweet with a light fruit taste.  I have also tried and enjoyed eating various cinnamon square type cereals. Cascadian Farm Cinnamon Crunch cereal is very tasty. The Cinnamon Crunch cereal doesn’t taste covered in sugar and cinnamon, just lightly sweetened and flavorful.

My husband and I ate the majority of the Oats & Honey granola and Dark Chocolate Almond Granola cereals, however my kids did have their share. Both cereals offered a delicious, satisfying breakfast. I wasn’t hungry a hour later. The Oats & Honey did have great honey flavor and is perfect on top of yogurt or ice cream. The Dark Chocolate Almond Granola cereal felt like an indulgence with the chocolate and almonds but not overwhelmingly sweet for breakfast. This cereal offers just a bit of sweetness to a wholesome breakfast. It’s my husband’s favorite.

After my family reviewed the Cascadian Farm cereals and granola bars, I’m a believer #1 in orgnic and #2 Cascadian Farm. Why wouldn’t I choose a product that is healthier for my family that my family likes better?! By eating organic foods, you too can limit your family’s exposure of synthetic insecticides, fungicides and herbicides because they are not used on their crops. They don’t use growth hormones or  antibiotics with their livestock or dairy production either. Plus, you will limit your family’s intake of genetically modified foods because they don’t use genetically modified crops or livestock. Plus, organic farming methods provide a safer and healthier environment for your family to live.

Why am I specifically recommending Cascadian Farm products? #1 we tried them and the food is delicious. #2 They have been delivering organic foods since 1972, they are a leader in their field and know what they are doing. They provide more than 75 high quality organic foods for your family that you can trust including cereal, chewy granola bars, frozen fruit, frozen vegetables, gourmet boxed foods, premium bagged foods,  premium blends, frozen potatoes, fruit spreads, juice concentrates, and relish.

do the terms “natural” and “organic” mean the same thing?

No. According to the USDA, the terms “natural” and “organic” are not interchangeable. Only food labeled “organic” meets USDA’s national organic standards. While other claims, such as “natural,” “free-range,” and “hormone-free,” can still appear on food labels these terms should not be confused with “organic.”

I enjoyed the review of the EcoSmart products. I will be looking for the EcoSMART Safe Lawn and Outdoor Value Bundle that is sold at Walmart and Home Depot. It’s nice to see that mainstream stores carry these type of environmentally-friendly products. I could really use these products right now.

  13. Lisa says:

I would like to try the organic orange juice concentrate that is made with and Cascade Mountain-spring water and their organic lemonade concentrate sweetened with grape juice. Using these would eliminate tossing old juice cartons and bottles into the trash every week.
