My husband and I enjoy seeking out new restaurants around town and while traveling. My kids are typically happy to try new foods as well – they are not the “eat only peanut butter and jelly” type. My family was given the chance to Experience Columbus and received a promotional item from Experience Columbus to facilitate this post.
During our recent trip to Columbus, Ohio, we were looking for a restaurant in the Easton Town Center. While looking at the map, we overhead a man saying he hadn’t been to the Mongolian restaurant in 8 years but they had to go tonight. We chatted and he said if it is the same one from 8 years ago, it was the best! With a recommendation like that, we headed to BD’s Mongolian Grill in Columbus, Ohio.
Upon arriving, I was a little uncertain of what kind of restaurant it was. Was it a buffet or what? The host put my mind at ease right way and explained how it works. In addition to a full menu, the majority of guests enjoy creating their own Mongolian masterpiece. First, select your favorite protein and place in your bowl. You can choose from several steak options, chicken, fish, shrimp, and more. Next, add as many vegetables as you can pile up on your bowl. Finally, fill a small dish with your favorite sauces and seasoning. If you are like me and need a little direction, they have recipe ideas on the wall and in the menu.
Half the fun at BD’s Mongolian Grill in Columbus, Ohio is watching them grill your meal right before your eyes. They were a lively bunch of chefs that knew how to have a good time and put on a show – family friendly of course! (I’m surprised at how some places have chefs drinking alcohol while cooking with sharp knives and grills – not appropriate for kids to see or safe!)
You can also add a fresh salad and soup to your meal at no additional charge.
For me to say that you can get the best stir fry you’ve ever tasted at BD’s Mongolian Grill is good but hearing and seeing it from a 6 year old is even better!
If you can get children to eat healthy food at a restaurant – instead of what most restaurants offer kids (fried chicken tenders & fries), then it is a great restaurant. We plan to frequent BD Mongolian Barbeque the next time we visit Columbus, Ohio. Upon returning to Akron, I found out there is another BD’s Mongolian Grill in Cleveland, Ohio. Yippee! We can’t wait to check it out!
