Who is ready for Christmas baking?! I am! I love to make lots of treats and goodies for my family, for parties, and to give as gifts. I have several recipes that are traditional that I always make but I also like to browse for new and exciting recipes too. I have found a ton of delicious Christmas themed recipes on the Pillsbury website that I’ve gotta try!
I received product and a promotional item to facilitate this post.
I’ve made many recipes from the Pillsbury.com website and they have never let me down. There is always something new and exciting to try – year-round!
Many of the recipes are super easy to make too, using only a handful of ingredients. This is perfect for busy moms like me who like to make homemade foods and desserts but don’t necessarily have to time to bake from scratch. Many of the recipes start with a base item like a Pillsbury cake, cookie mix, bread mix, etc. This makes the recipes both delicious and fast.
This week, I’ve been experimenting with some Pillsbury Holiday and Funfetti items.
I found a recipe for Swirled Holiday Brownie Cake that uses Pillsbury Fudge Brownie Mix as the base. I love brownies and make them often, however I was out of the mix so I decided to try using the Pillsbury Holiday Funfetti Cake Mix as the base instead.
It is basically just the recipe you’d use to make cake box cookies. I combined the cake mix with 1 stick of butter and 1 egg. It forms a thick dough that I pressed into the bottom of a 9×13 pan. I added white chocolate chips over that.
To make this a sort of oeey-gooey bar, I added condensed sweetened milk over that.
Next, I used the same recipe and technique from the brownie recipe. I prepared the Funfetti Red and Green cake mixes as directed, then poured them in an alternating pattern in the pan. Next, I used a knife to gently swirl the cake mixes together to form a beautiful pattern.
I baked at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. The result was beautiful Christmas Ooey Gooey Bars! It could not have been any easier! I took them to a gathering last night and everyone oohed and awed at the red and green swirling design! I am definitely going to do this technique again soon – maybe on top of brownies or just as a cake!
That is one thing that I enjoy most about baking with Pillsbury products, you can get creative while mixing and matching things that you and your family likes.
If you like getting inspiration for baking like I do, check out the Pillsbury Facebook page. Right now, they are having a 12 Days of Goodies where they promote a Christmas themed recipe every day.
The Holiday Crinkle Cookies caught my eye because they are so festive with bright green and red. The powdered sugar looks like snow to me!
After I read the recipe for the Holiday Crinkle Cookies, I liked it even more. It only calls for a couple extra ingredients beyond what it takes to prepare the mixes, making this an easy recipe to whip up any time. What I really liked was that it uses cool whip in the recipe. I’m sure that is what makes it light and fluffy. Since my son was diagnosed as Type 1 Diabetic last Summer, cool whip has become a very close friend because it contains no carbs! Yay!
Nothing says Christmas more than peppermint sticks! The Pillsbury Peppermint Dipped Chocolate Cookies are perfect for cookie exchanges, parties, and treats all season long.
I made these Peppermint Dipped Chocolate Cookies last year and my family loved them! They were so easy to make using Pillsbury Holiday line of products.
Another easy and delicious looking recipes that I found were the Holiday Funfetti® Sandwich Cookies . Don’t they look scrumptious? All is it is Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Mix with their Holiday Funfetti Garland Green and Rudolph Red Frosting. The Holiday Funfetti frosting come with sprinkles for decorating. It doesn’t get any easier (or affordable) than that! I think these sandwich cookies are adorable and perfect for gifting too!
