Somewhere between my new love affair for Bento Box Lunch Preparation and the occasional allure of grocery store exploration, I find an odd desire to read this children’s ‘healthy eating’ book.
Here’s the skinny on this book
- Healthy Foods from A to Z is a bi-lingual (English- Spanish) alphabet book.
- Each Page showcases a letter.
- Each Page showcases a face made from fruits, vegetables and other healthy natural foods.
- Each Page specifically names each component in both English and Spanish.
The cover of the book originally struck me as odd, but it has so grown on me- and it meets the curiosity of old and young who open its cover.
Half of the pages/letters start with English as the first word.
And the other half start with Spanish as the first word in the translation. This was a little confusing at first, but did make the process more educational.
Healthy Foods from A to Z is a fun way for kids to learn their alphabet and learn about healthy food for each letter. Each page has a face made of food that start with the page letter. The faces are arranged in a range of emotions that kids can easily recognize. In the back of the book, there are fun food projects you can try with your kids. These activities engage your child in the actual foods and in learning. When you make learning fun, kids recall more and enjoy it. The same goes for healthy foods, when you make it fun to eat, they will eat healthier. For instance, when you add an olive shaped like a spider on top of a deviled egg, suddenly healthy fun is exciting and fun.
