My kids love Halloween, so I’ve been adding bits of Halloween fun to our menu. Pillsbury.com always has fun and festive holiday themed recipes. Here are a few Halloween-themed favorites that I’d like to try:

The above Spider Web Peanut Butter Cookie, Brownie Spider Web, Funfetti® Halloween Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cookies, and Little Monster Cupcakes look delicious and perfect for any Halloween gathering or party. I’m making party treats for both my kids’ classroom Halloween parties this Friday, so I need to narrow down which recipe I’m going to send – one without peanut butter, for sure.
Pillsbury also has Halloween themed boxed mixes and icing to make quick and easy Halloween treats.
My son participates in the Scary Cake Contest with Cub Scouts every year. There are always a lot of great looking, scary cakes that the boys – and their moms – bake for the contest.
This year, he designed his entire cake and wanted to use the Pillsbury Halloween Funfetti cake mix – what child doesn’t love Funfetti cake!? His cake says “Beware of the —–” with ooey, gooey slime over the last word like the creature that you are to beware of was hatched out of the egg and walked through the sign. I thought it was clever.
I’ve been cooking with my kids since they were toddlers. Whenever they want to help me in the kitchen, I welcome it. It is a great bonding time and also the perfect classroom for math, reading, and even science.
My son often asks to experiment in the kitchen. As long as he isn’t being wasteful, I allow it. For the cake contest, he wanted to help a lot. Even if it meant a few more cake crumbs in the icing, it was worth it because he could say that he made the cake.
Not only does the Pillsbury website offer great recipe ideas but so does their Pinterest and Facebook pages.
The Pillsbury Facebook page also has a lot of fun promotions like the Name This Recipe contest they had earlier this month. They create a recipe and ask their fans to name it. I think their fans did a good job naming this sweet treat “Trick or Treat Parfaits” that would be just perfect for Halloween class parties or as a special surprise at home.
