One of my least favorite things about summer is BUGS! I get eaten alive by everything! The kids are kind of in the same boat, and I have tried a few different products some work great but I have only ever used sprays, I wondered what else was out there. I really wanted a Deet free product that was safe for me while pregnant and for the kids. When I saw BugBand products. I had to try them out!
About Bug Band
BugBand is a line of Deet-Free insect repellent products. They are made using Geraniol, the active ingredient in BugBand Products. It comes from Geranium oil and has been proven effective in repelling a wide variety of insects, to include mosquitoes, house flies, stable flies, fleas, gnats, dog ticks, lone star ticks, and no-see-ums. It kind of has a lemony smell to me, which is not at all unpleasant.

In addition to the obvious product of the bugband wristband, there are also lots of other great products by BugBand! I wanted to share with you about the BugBand products we have been using. I love how easy it was to add BugBand products to or outdoor living and playing.
Towelettes– These are great for use on little ones and on my face and neck. That way we don’t have to worry about spray in our eyes. I love that these come individually packages too! It makes for easy packing for kids going off to camp, or keeping them stashed in a backpack or diaper bag.
Pump Spray– This is most like your standard style of spray bottle. It’s available in 3 sizes 3 oz,4oz, 6oz. I use this to spray around pants cuffs, shirt sleeves, etc. I like that I can actually spray the kids clothing not necessarily their skin. 🙂
Bead bags- These are nylon mesh bags filled with plastic scent beads that have a concentrated amount of Geraniol that makes a vapor barrier in an area. These are perfect for use in areas where sprays cant be used. They can even be used in air vents on your car or even a camper to keep the bugs away!
Portable Diffuser– This is my favorite! I love using this on our patio and out in the yard when the kids are playing because I am always getting bit by bugs. All it takes is 3 AA Batteries and can go every where with us. The small fan distributes the Geranoil vapors up to 300 sq ft! I love that it’s safe to have around food too, so it keeps the bugs away when we are grilling out.
