Zippo offers a whole line of products including lighters, candle lighters, accessories, and outdoor products. I had the unique opportunity to try out their Hand Warmers from their Outdoor Line of products. This is an excellent product for the winter sports person, or outdoors man on your Christmas shopping list!

Hands-On Review of Zippo Hand Warmer

So, what exactly is a Zippo Hand Warmer? It is a device made to withstand the outdoor elements while keeping you more comfortable! It is a sleek, compact container meant to be held to keep you warm. The container is re-usable and holds Zippo lighter fluid.Lighter fluid?! I was concerned but it is odorless and safe when used properly. This small device can burn for 12 hours and is reusable, so very environmentally friendly.  It is a great product to have with you when you are at your kids outdoor sporting events this winter, as well as for skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, ice fishing, and anything else you plan to do outside this winter!

When you use the product, you’ll have it in this nice black cloth case. Do not use the hand warmer without the case as it gets very hot!

So, how do you fill the Zippo Hand Warmer with lighter fluid? I was nervous at first, so I had my husband do it. :) It was really simple to do and I have no problem doing it now. Simply remove the hand warmer lid, remove catalytic burner unit from base, pour zippo lighter fluid using provided funnel into filling unit. You can adjust the level of fluid to the length of time you plan to use the product for not waste. From filling unit, pour into catalystic burner opening. Wipe any excess from surface. Replace catalytic burner unit. To ignite, with the lid off, hold base unit and apply falme to catalytic burner. Replace hand warmer lid. Place in bag. After it is ignited, the heat is provided by a catalytic process, WITHOUT flame.

We will most likely use the Zippo Hand Warmer on our long winter hikes this winter. We love to hike the parks in the winter, it is the most beautiful time with the snow covered trees. The Zippo Hand Warmer will also come in handy during outdoor sporting events.
