boscia’s B.B. Cream – The Ultimate Multi-tasker Foundation

Make up foundations are a dime a dozen, but one that gives natural looking coverage, SPF 27 PA  ++, conceals imperfections, and hydrates, firms, and heals the skin – now that’s worth trying!  But could one simple tube of product do all that?  I was going to find out for myself by trying boscia’s new B.B. Cream.

Boscia is a company that has long been known for it’s preservative-free skin care line.   Why are preservative-free skin care products better?  Boscia’s website explains that the preservatives that serve only to extend the shelf-life of the products can also do a number on your skin.  For those who have sensitivities to these additives, the results can be dryness, redness, and even breakouts.  I’ve had that happen to me before when trying a new make up, but didn’t know that  it was most likely the preservatives harming  my skin – yuck!

What Makes boscia’s B.B. Cream Such a Great Multi-tasker?

Early this summer, boscia added their B. B. Cream, or “blemish balm” to their skin care arsenal.  The literature on the B.B. Balm touts firmer, younger looking skin.  It also promotes the balm’s ability to encourage healthy cell renewal, and protect skin from sun damage.  So, what’s in it that can do all that?

  •  Abyssine, a naturally-derived survival molecule, shields and soothes skin.
  • Hydroxyprolisilane promotes skin elasticity and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
  • Beta-Glucan provides essential moisture and protects against environmental damage.
  • Jojoba Leaf, a powerful antioxidant, combats free radical damage while it nourishes and protects skin to prevent premature aging.
  • Willowherb, a unique anti-irritant, helps to calm skin inflammation and reduce visible redness and irritation.
  • SPF 27 PA ++ , provides UVA and UVB protection.   The PA system is a grade of UVA protection that provides superior defense against the rays that cause collagen damage and photo-aging of the skin.

My Experience with bocia’s B.B. Cream

I started using the B.B. Cream in June.  I was skeptical about it’s “one shade blends with most skin colors” approach.  I have very fair skin, and am always fearful of leaving the house with a not-so-nice make-up line.  I’m pleased to tell you that the B.B. Cream’s self-adjusting shade did just that with my skin -it adjusted to my skin color.  It has a natural appearance, giving me a nice healthy glow with the plus of more even looking skin.  I’m not one to like a caked on make-up appearance.  What I am looking for is a more even skin tone.  For me, B.B. Cream delivers just that.

Before applying boscia's b.b. cream - see my shiny nose?

The first time I used it, I was surprised by it’s almost “slick” feel as I put it on.  But that slightly slick feeling soon turned into one that absorbed into my skin, firmed my skin, and left my skin looking and feeling younger.  I no longer apply a separate moisturizer as I did with my old foundation.  There’s no need for it with the B.B. Cream.  A little pressed powder on my oiliest spots – my nose and forehead, and I’m ready to go.  Less steps, less products to buy – I like that!

After applying boscia's B.B. Cream - natural, even skin tone

Since I mentioned my T-zone oily spots, I should tell you about another reason that I really like the B.B. Cream.  I have seen a pretty dramatic reduction in the number of tiny, pebbly feeling oil deposits on my forehead.  What a plus that has been!  And, when hormones “bless” me with a pimple or two on my chin area, they are now gone in a day or two, compared with at least 3 or 4 days before I started using the B.B. Cream.  Hallelujah!

Also important to note is how long the 1.75 fluid ounce tube has lasted me.  It still hasn’t run out, after 3 months of daily use!  My previous pressed mineral powder foundation seemed to run out much faster.

Another great feature worth mentioning is the high SPF protection.  All summer long at the pool, I never got one sunburn on my face, and most days, I used no sunscreen other than that in the B.B. Cream I had applied before leaving the house.  I really like the simplicity of this product!
