Starting to wear make-up seems to be a tween/teen girl right of passage. For girls, it makes them feel more adult, pretty, and special. For us moms, it can illicit fear, concern, and be the topic of many arguments with our girls. Wouldn’t it be neat if there were a line of make-up especially for adolescents that balanced their desire to begin wearing make-up with parents’ concerns about looking over-made up and age appropriate? I am happy to tell you there is: EyeDoll Chatter. I received an EyeDoll Chatter eye shadow kit and an EyeDoll Chatter lip gloss kit to facilitate my review.
The Make-Up or No Make-Up Dilemma…SOLVED
My soon-to-be sixth grader, Alyssa, is at the tween point of wanting to experiment with wearing make-up from time to time. I, on the other hand, don’t want her to look made-up and overly adult. I was thrilled to receive the EyeDoll Chatter products for review. These are not gloomy, dark colors, but light, glossy, shimmery colors. They add a touch of fun and color with out being overdone. THIS, I like, and can allow without regret!
Alyssa is thrilled to have a little freedom in this regard. She feels extra pretty when she wears the layered, scented lip glosses and eye shadows. I have to admit that I think she looks extra-pretty too, and feel the sheer colors are age-appropriate. EyeDoll Chatter make-up gives us one less thing to argue about during her tween years…whew! 🙂
The extra cool thing about this make-up is that girls get to mix their own formulations, by choosing one of the three scented lip glosses or eye shimmers to coordinate with one of the three colored lip glosses or eye shadows. Here’s how it works:
EyeDoll Chatter Hello Kissy Lip Gloss Kit
This kit comes with three pots of scented lip glosses (Root beer, Chocolate and Raspberry) and three pots of colored lip glosses (Chocolate, Midnight Magic, and Little Beast). I love the playful names of the glosses. The idea is for girls to make custom blends by combining a flavored gloss (or two!) with a colored gloss (or two!). Alyssa had fun trying these out on herself and her little sister.
I had fun saying yes since the colors were light and sheer. The kit comes with it’s own applicator brush, and all the items are self-contained in a cute, hinged box with a magnetic closure.
EyeDoll Chatter My Besties Love Pink Eye Shadow Kit
This kit comes with three pots of scented eye shimmers (Bubble Gum, Romance, and Pomegranate) as well as three colored shadows (Confetti Confessions, Twitter the Glitter, and Boys N Berry). Again, the concept is to apply a scented shimmer and then layer on a colored shadow or two. Inside the hinged box are directions on how to apply the shadows (or lip glosses) . Girls can also check out how-to videos on the EyeDoll Chatter website and on YouTube. I actually learned how to properly apply my own eye make-up at www.eyedollchatter.com!
EyeDoll Chatter even has a free app girls can use to select and share their favorite EyeDoll Chatter combos.
EyeDoll Chatter Make-Up Is All Natural!
The fact that EyeDoll Chatter make-up is all natural is what sealed the deal for me! Girls have enough trouble with their complexions during adolescence – the last thing they need is make-up with all sorts of chemical additives. EyeDoll Chatter products are paraben-free, talc-free and dye-free. Wonderful!
