I have bought more socks and jeans for my Dad on Father’s Day then I care to remember! He always says he doesn’t “need” anything, and then gives me bland ideas like new socks. This year I wanted to spice things up a bit, but still give him something he is going to use. I was excited when Crabtree & Evelyn asked if I would review their new West Indian Lime shaving products. I told them I knew just the guy for the job. 🙂 I received a West Indian Lime Shave Soap, Shave Cream, and After Shave Balm products in exchange for my review.
First Impressions of the Crabtree and Evelyn West Indian Lime Collection
I’ve been a fan of Crabtree & Evelyn products since my days of working retail as a high school student. Their luxurious avocado soap is one of my perennial favorites. To me, Crabtree & Evelyn stands for quality. As I opened the handsome boxes of shaving products to take a peek, I knew my dad was in for a treat.
The West Indian Lime fragrance unfolds to reveal the zesty scent of fresh limes and vetiver, a native ingredient of the British West Indies. Blended with warm spices and a deep, woody base note, this collection is as sophisticated as it is distinctive.
West Indian Shave Soap from Crabtree & Evelyn
The shaving soap comes in a gorgeous, lidded wooden bowl. It has a very sophisticated, high-end appearance to it. It is formulated with vitamin E, a natural moisturizer and conditioner for the skin.
The complex yet light citrus scent is very pleasing. It is a wonderful combination of citrus with notes of spice and earthiness. My dad told me that while it wasn’t as foamy as his usual shaving soap, it still gave him a nice shave. He thoroughly enjoyed the clean scent.
West Indian Lime Shave Cream from Crabtree & Evelyn
The shave cream also has a handsome appearance, and even comes with its own engraved key to help squeeze every last drop of product out of the tube. My dad thought he was pretty hotsy-totsy with the key. Sometimes, it’s the little touches, isn’t it?! The shave cream is also full of rich vitamin E, which help soften the skin and protect against razor burn.
He loved the close shave he got with this product, and again commented on the fresh, light scent. This is important to him, as strong fragrances irritate his nose. He said his face felt smooth and nice after using the shave cream.
West Indian Lime After Shave Balm From Crabtree & Evelyn
The after shave balm was my dad’s favorite product. He enjoyed layering on the balm after shaving. He liked it so much that he used some on his arms and legs too. Men’s faces get dry with all of the shaving they do, and this balm is such a nice treat for their skin. Vitamin E, glycerin and almond oil all make this balm a spa treatment for overstressed skin.
I tried this thick, creamy, balm on my hands when I received it. Honestly, I would even wear that lotion! The scent is so fresh and clean smelling, and not at all overpowering. It also is not your typical heavy, spicy smelling men’s aftershave. I kept sniffing my hands the first half and hour I put it on. As my skin oils mixed with the lotion, the scent became more mellow and complex.
My dad agrees, these products are winners! I think the father, husband, boyfriend or brother in your life will too!
