You should have heard the screeching and seen the drama when I told my girls I was going to interview Disney star, Bella Thorne! Ms. Thorne plays “CeCe”alongside star Zendaya, who plays her best friend, “Rocky,” on the hit Disney television show “Shake It Up.” It currently holds the #1 live action TV show in its time slot for both the ages 2-11 and ages 6-11 categories. Girls across the US are glued to their televisions watching the often funny, entertaining escapades of CeCe and Rocky, who are backup dancers on a popular dance show, “Shake It Up, Chicago.” Gather up the young girls you know and read on as I share Bella’s answers to my interview questions and my sponsored review of the new “Shake It Up: I <3 Dance” cd (or “I Heart Dance” cd for those of you non-texters)!
My Interview with Shake It Up Star, Bella Thorne
Q: What is your favorite song on the new “Shake It Up I <3 Dance” CD?
A: Bella said it was hard to choose, since she really likes all of them. Ultimately, she chose “Contagious Love,” the duet she sings with Zendaya. She said it stands out to her because it is a different style of song for them. She also mentioned that she really likes Sharp As A Razor performed by the McClain Sisters.
Q: What do you think would surprise fans about the new “Shake It Up I <3 Dance” CD?
A: Bella said the variety of types of music would be surprising and exciting for fans. All the tracks are fun to dance to.
Q: How long have you been dancing?
A: Surprisingly, Bella only started dancing when she got the role on “Shake It Up!” That makes her dancing even that much more impressive, doesn’t it?
Q: How much time to you spend dancing and rehearsing for Shake It Up?
A: Ms. Thorne shared that her schedule varies depending on the day, but in general, it’s a 9 hour day. That includes school with a tutor, Shake it Up rehearsals, dance rehearsals, costume fittings, etc…She’s definitely a busy young lady!
My Review of the New “Shake It Up: I <3 Dance” CD
Honestly, it almost doesn’t matter what kind of music is on the CD – with the “Shake It Up” girls and other Disney stars singing on it, it is sure to top the music charts. This CD is a young girl’s dream come true! It includes tracks from Bella Thorne, Zendaya, CoCo Jones, Roshon Fegan, Caroline Sunshine, the McClain Sisters, Olivia Holt, Y.LA, Bridgit Mendler, and Selena Gomez. Talk about star power!
One of the things I and my girls like most about the CD is the variety on it – not only the variety of singers, but also the types of music. Some of the tracks have a bit of an edgy, hip-hop sound, a bit of rap-style here and there, and still others have a pop sound and beat. It’s definitely got a dance club feel to it. My 10 year old says “Blow the System” and “Shake It Up Theme Song” are her favorite tracks. My 5 year old loves to rock out to “Contagious Love.” I myself am partial to “We’re Dancing” – I love Bridget Mendler’s voice. The great part is that every track has a great beat, and makes you want to get movin’! “I <3 Dance” is a hip, kid appropriate CD packed with exciting dance tracks any girl would love.
My older daughter really wanted this CD for her birthday. I know we’ll be hearing this one blasting from the basement at her next sleepover! It’s a good thing I enjoy the CD too! 🙂
