I’ve had problems with shin splints a number of times after I’ve gone running or have worn high heels for too long!
Whenever I go for a run, I try to stretch and warm up and not run on hard surfaces, in order to prevent shin splints. When breaking in a new pair of heels, I try not to wear them for hours at a time for the first few wears.
No matter how I get shin splints, my legs always ache and be tender for days afterwards. I never knew how to ease the pain other than to stop running or wearing heels, and just wait for it to heal. Then I tried ACE™ Brand Elastic Bandage with the ACE™ Brand Clip! It provides customized compression for sprains, strains, and general soreness.
I have now started the ACE™ Brand Elastic Bandage with the new ACE™ Brand Clip and I’m getting great results. The bandage provides the support and compression my legs need and the new clip ensures a secure fit.
How to Prevent or Find Relief from Shin Splints
Always stretch and warm up before exercising and make sure to cool down afterward.
It’s best, if you can run on a softer surface like grass, in order to prevent shin splints.
Use an ACE™ Brand Elastic Bandage with the new ACE™ Brand Clip on your leg to provide compression before exercises or after breaking in new heels.
This is a great video from ACE™ Brand that shows how to wrap your leg:
If you have used ACE™ Brand Bandages in the past, you may have become frustrated with the little metal clips or the bandage not staying in place. Now, there is a new ACE™ Brand Clip that is easy to use, keeps the bandage in place, and doesn’t snag clothing. It still provides the customized compression and support you need but even better.
Rest between exercising to allow your shin splints to heal.
I hope these tips help you to find relief from shin splints like they have helped me. There is nothing worse than having shin splint pain with every step! The ACE™ Brand Elastic Bandages are really easy to use and can help alleviate the pain of shin splints, and other common injuries.
