The Akron Zoo is one of the greenest organizations in Akron and will be showcased during the Green Energy Ohio Tour this Saturday, June 4th from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm at the Akron Zoo. Join the Akron Zoo, Kent State Solar array, KB Bio Energy, Nature Realm and Hattie’s Gardens as they showcase their green efforts.
The tour starts at 8:30 am at the Akron Zoo where they will showcase their solar powered train and more. The tour continues to Old Trail School, Bridgestone Americas and Hattie’s Gardens where they will showcase how they earned the title of some of the greenest businesses in the area.
The Green Energy Ohio Tour is managed by Green Energy Ohio and is part of the National Solar Tour in partnership with the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). This is one of the largest demonstrations where you can see first-hand installed renewable energy technologies and energy efficient building practices.
Participation is free, but registration is required as space is limited. Call 330-375-2550ext. 7310 to register. The first 60 guests registered receive a free lunch and free trolley ride to each location, starting at the Akron Zoo at 8:30 am. For those that sign up late, you can drive with the trolley to each location.
