When we invest in our homes, we often dedicate a lot of our time to the interiors. After all, this is what we see the most. However, we can’t neglect the exterior in the process. When you’re renovating your home, focusing on the exterior can really boost your curb appeal. Not only can this make you feel good every time you come home, but it will also help the value of your home. Let’s take a look into it all.
Give it All a Good Clean
The first place to start is always going to be by making sure that everything is super clean. Sometimes, it can just be as simple as dirt and grime making your driveway or patio look a lot worse than it actually is. Giving everything a good clean-up with a power washer can make a world of difference. Make sure that you’re putting any old toys or furniture away, raking up any leaves, and even ripping out dead or old plants that make the space look worse.
Refresh the Paint
Next, you’re going to want to freshen up the outside of your property too. Over time, this often needs a bit of a facelift. You’ll want to make sure that you get the right residential exterior painting team to bring your home back to life. While you’re at it, you may also want to repaint and fences that you have. If you have brickwork, you may also want to get this repointed to help it look fresh.
Focus on the Hard Landscaping
At this point, you may find that your freshly elevated property is only highlighting the condition of areas like your driveway, deck, or patio. It may be that cleaning isn’t quite enough. If you need any repair work done, now is the time to do it. You could also look at putting in a new driveway, patio, or deck to really transform the space. The same can go for fences and gates too.
Refresh Your Planting
At this point, it’s then time to look at the plants you have. If you did rip out anything old, you’ll want to replace them with beautiful new plants. You could even look at lining your driveway or walkways with edging plants to really show the space off. While you’re doing so, think about grass maintenance, such as feeding and seeding, to help your lawn look its best.
Add in Some Accessories
The final thing you can look to do here is make sure that you accessorize your outside space. Now, you’ll be used to doing this with your interiors, so why not do the same for the exterior too? Once you have cleaned everything up and given it a spruce, you may find that it looks better, but it’s not quite that. This is where your accessories come in. It might be a beautifully made house name or number, an outside light for your porch, or even pots by the front door. You can also accessorize the fear with pretty lighting and an outdoor rug to really bring the space to life.
