How does your garden grow?

Oh, how does your garden grow? I’m glad you asked. We’ve seen some changes in our vegetable garden, as I’m sure you have to if you planted a garden this summer. My kids have really enjoyed watching our garden grow. They go out every morning to check the progress. I’ve recorded Weeks 2 & 3 for you so you can see the difference. 🙂

Week 3 Pepper & Tomato Plants

The sunshine and rain that we have had this month have really helped my garden get established quickly and start growing. I also feel like the raised garden is making a difference too. I forgot to take a photo of the pepper and tomato plants that I planted in an existing flower bed. However, those plants are much smaller than the ones in the Backyard Botanical Oasis Garden.  I’ll be sure to add a picture in my next post.

One goal I had with planting a vegetable garden this Summer was to get my kids involved in learning the whole process of where their food comes from and how plants grow. It has gone better than I could have imagined. Each day, my kids are checking the progress. They help me water the garden, their favorite activity!

Elijah has been really helpful in picking out any weeds that pop up too. He knows the difference between plants and weeds, even in my flower gardens. Such a smart little boy. 🙂 There really haven’t been many weeds in the vegetable garden, another benefit of having a raised garden!

With all the rain we have had, I haven’t had to do much watering. If the soaker hoses were hooked up, I wouldn’t have to worry about it at all. This is a project I hope to get completed later this summer. To do it right, we want to bury a water line to the garden.
