General Voris worked as an Ohio lawyer and a legislator before enlisting in the Army. He served through the Civil War and was eventually promoted to Major General. After the war he served as a congressman and judge in the Akron Area. He died in Akron in 1904.

This below collection came from a a photo collection of his. The men are mostly older, so it can be assumed that he collected photos of his army buddies long after the war ended. This collection is showcased on the SummitMemory.org website, and can be attributed to the Summit County Historical Society.
