The echo of your footsteps on the ceramic tile of the lower level.
The bang of the aluminum railing from the food court near the pet store.
The Crunch of Fallen Leaves from trees long since watered.
The photos below of Rolling Acres Mall are for me a reminder of growing up. Seeing the eerie and very dry orange water fountain, seeing the corner of a popcorn store front where a friend of mine worked for below minimum wage (plus tips, he would say), and the overlook with escalators is an expression of change for my life, of moving forward, and a little bit of lost youth.
