Spring Cleaning Refresh: Must-Have Tools & Products That Actually Make a Difference

Casabella Power Spin Scrubbe

I never understood that term ‘spring cleaning’ until I had kids. After a winter of tracked-in snow and salt, extra friends and family over during the holidays, and a closed-up house, by Spring, my home needs a little extra TLC or spring cleaning.  Whether you’re deep cleaning the kitchen, reorganizing the pantry, or finally tackling that grout in the bathroom, it really does feel good to get the house in shape!  For me, having the right products on hand makes all the difference in the job as well as my motivation. When your tools work for you, spring cleaning becomes less of a chore and more of a reset.

Here are a few items I’ve been using this season that have made a noticeable difference in my home—and in my routines.

Casabella Power Spin Scrubber – $49.99
If there’s one product I wish I had years ago, it’s this power scrubber. It takes on the jobs that normally require serious scrubbing and makes them so much easier. We have well water, and that makes it tough to get bathrooms and tile really clean without a ton of elbow grease (something my mom always recommends using).

This tool does the hard work. It comes with 4 different shaped brush heads so you always have the right one for every job. The rotating brush heads cut through grime in our showers and on tile floors. I especially like the angled and dome brushes for corners and sink edges. You can use the handle straight or at an angle pictured above. It’s cordless, extendable, and rechargeable, which makes it super convenient. I always thought my bathrooms were clean—until I used this. Big difference.

GoodCook 3-Compartment Meal Prep Containers – $12.99

These meal prep containers are a a must-have for so many different reasons. They’re BPA-free, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe. I’ve been using them to portion out meals not just for my family, but for my brother who’s undergoing treatment for stage 4 colon cancer. Cooking is hard for him right now, so I make five meals, freeze them, and he can thaw one at a time whenever he’s ready.

They’re sturdy, thicker than I expected, and the compartments make it easy to separate proteins, veggies, and carbs. For anyone tracking macros, managing diabetes, or simply trying to eat balanced meals, these take the guesswork out of portions.

GoodCook Gourmet Acacia Wood Cutting Board – $17.99

How does your cutting board look these days? This wood cutting board is beautiful and durable. I’ve used a lot of boards over the years—especially with recipe testing and developing content for local stores like Acme Fresh Market—and this one really holds up. Acacia wood is naturally water resistant and doesn’t hold odors like plastic can.

It’s generously sized and has a carved juice groove, which makes it perfect for slicing anything from fresh fruit to roasted meat without making a mess. I use a little mineral oil on it after each use to keep it looking good. I stopped using plastic boards a while ago, and this is exactly the kind of upgrade that makes you feel better about how you’re prepping food.

GoodCook PRO 20pc Tools Set – $29.97

Sometimes you don’t realize how worn out your utensils are until you replace them. This 20-piece kitchen tool set has everything—from spatulas and spoons to measuring cups and a whisk. The silicone heads are heat-safe and gentler on non-stick cookware than older plastic ones.

The tongs, whisk, and basting brush get daily use around here. Everything fits nicely in the included crock, so it helps keep the kitchen organized too. If your kitchen tools are due for a refresh, this is a solid set to start with, especially if you’re trying to move away from plastic tools.

Casabella Click, Clean and Organize Collection

With two large dogs, clean floors are a constant challenge. Between shedding, muddy paws, and water bowl spills, I feel like I’m always cleaning. I usually rely on a steam cleaner, but I’ve actually enjoyed using this twist mop and feel like it’s getting my floors cleaner.

The microfiber head picks up dirt and dog hair well, and it’s washable. The built-in wringing mechanism means no touching the dirty mop head, and the locking design keeps it in place while I’m mopping.

It’s been especially great for quick cleanups in the kitchen and around the dog’s water dishes that always end up a mess.

Casabella Click, Clean and Organize Collection

Casabella has a variety of mops and brooms to choose from. I’m incorporating the different versions as I  do my spring cleaning. I’m excited to try the dust mop for those in-between sweeps to pick up dog hair, it’s so much more economical and environmental friendly than the throw-away dust sheets I’ve been using!

Have you looked at your broom lately? I hadn’t, and when I did… yikes. The Casabella Click, Clean and Organize Angle Broom Head with Dust Pan has been such a good swap. The angled bristles grab more than our old broom ever did, and the dustpan’s rubber lip really helps pick everything up on the first pass. Made from recycled plastic, it’s a little upgrade that just works better. Plus, it stands upright, folds for storage, and the dustpan has a bristle cleaner built in. It’s also easier on my back since I don’t have to keep bending over.
