Finding a dog sitter that you trust can be a difficult task. My parents were joining us on a trip to Myrtle Beach and didn’t have anyone to watch their dachshund. We heard about Rover.com and thought we’d see if there was someone local to watch Snoopy. We found a really nice family that lived close by with availability to watch Snoopy.
Then the unimaginable happened. Snoopy went missing from my parent’s yard!
I received dog sitting to facilitate this post.
I texted the family at 10pm to tell them that we wouldn’t make it to the meet & greet that we scheduled in their home the next morning because Snoopy was lost.
You won’t believe what our dog sitter did! Warren offered to come help find him! Can you believe it? A person we had never met before offered to help us find Snoopy late at night and the next day. Thankfully we found Snoopy, over a day later. I just couldn’t believe that a person we met through Rover.com loved animals so much that they offered to help us at 10pm at night.
We knew that he would be in good hands when we went to Myrtle Beach the following week and we were right! Snoopy was like one of the family at Warren’s home. They sent us pictures and video throughout our stay so that we didn’t miss Snoopy too much and so that we could see that he was having fun with kids, other dogs, and in their big yard. No cage or kennel for him!
The photos and videos helped us to know that Snoopy was safe and happy. We all love our pets so much that it can be hard to leave them when we go on vacation. I like the tag line on the Rover.com website:
We love our dogs but sometimes we can’t take them with us on vacation. Other times in life, we just need a little help maybe for a day or during an overnight trip or someone to walk our dogs when our schedules get too busy, a baby is born, or a number of other reasons. Maybe you just need a sitter while you work. Whatever the case, I highly recommend Rover.com based on our experience and that of millions stays that dogs and families that have used their service since 2011.
With more than 40,000 sitters, there is a caring dog sitter near you too. Whether you choose to drop your dog off at the dog sitter or have them take care of your dog in your home, you’ll find the perfect fit with Rover.com. We did!
Our dogs are our family. We wouldn’t leave them with just anyone. With Rover.com, you can have peace of mind with the sitter you choose. You and your dog will even have the chance to meet the sitter during a Meet & Greet before the stay. There is even 24/7 emergency customer support at your reach during the stay – and you can talk and text the sitter as well. If anything were to happen to your dog during his visit, vet bills are covered up to $25,000 per claim after a $500 deductible.
We plan to use Rover.com again next month when my family goes on another trip. I’ll be sure to let you know how Cali likes the sitter we choose!
