We went to the Boo at the Akron Zoo last weekend and had a fantastic time! This is the last weekend to attend, so make plans now. This year seemed better than ever, with new and improved trick or treat stations throughout the zoo. The employees at each themed station were dressed up in really good costumes. The candy and treats were generous. Even with a few sprinkles of rain, we all had a great time!
This weekend (today – Sunday) is your last chance to attend Boo at the Akron Zoo, so make plans to take your kids! Below are a few pictures from our experience. The new Grizzly Ridge had several treat stations, it was the perfect time to revisit our new favorite spot at the zoo. The animals were active and so fun to watch! The slide by the otters was very popular too!
Throughout the zoo, you’ll find plenty of decorations. The entire zoo has been Halloween-transformed! Don’t worry, the decorations aren’t scary, just fun!
Half the fun is trick or treating, the other half is visiting all of our favorite animals! Be sure to say hi to the new baby penguins and the new octopus while you are there, and of course, our lion friends!
The Soap Box Derby display really got my kids excited! Maybe we’ll try to race in it next year! Maybe without the scary costume!
We spent several hours at Boo at the Akron Zoo. It was getting dark when we left. My kids are 6 and 8 and both highly recommend it to you and your kids as well. There were plenty of stroller pushing moms but plenty of older kids like me – and older – enjoying this festive, fun Halloween event.
